British footwear brand Swift & Co. has been making shoes and boots since 1934. Instead of focusing on the past and highlighting only the classics of British shoemaking, Swift went in a new direction with their new collection of boots.
An independent maker of handmade footwear, Swift & Co. is based in East Lancashire, England. The Garstang Boot is part of the company’s new Heritage Twist collection which blends together classic styles with modern materials and footwear technology. We see the Garstaang as part Chelsea, part hiker, part urban casual footwear.
The goal of this debut collection was to re-imagine the dress shoe, Chelsea boots, brogues, and lace-ups utilizing modern elements such as an interlocking shock-absorbent sole.
It is particularly noteworthy that before Heritage Twist collection had even come to market, Swift & Co. was awarded two of the United Kingdom footwear industry’s most prestigious awards for innovation, The Worshipful Company of Cordwainers Award for Innovation and The British Footwear Association / FN Platform Award.
Most recently, the folks from Swift & Co. returned from Las Vegas’ coveted FN Platform event – the biggest footwear trade show in the world – bringing with them the organizers’ award for international export potential.
Not a bad start.
